This is the gold standard of health coaching programs! It's an intensive six month program designed to get you in the best health of your life. During our work together, you will set and accomplish goals, explore new foods, understand & reduce cravings, increase energy and feel better. What I do is find out where you've been, where you are now, where you want to go and then help you get there. For most, it isn't that people have no idea what to eat. I'd imagine most know that broccoli is better than potato chips. As a matter of fact, I'm sure they do! But there is a big difference between knowing and doing. Some of what I do is the “what to eat and do” and some is the “how do you get all the way there from where you are now (and enjoy the journey)!” You will learn valuable information to increase your health, fitness and nutrition knowledge.

Baby & Me Pregnancy and Labor Prep
As a very experienced labor doula, health coach, and lactation counselor, I have the knowledge and skills to support you in preparing for labor. This program is for those who wish to labor as a couple without additional labor support but want the knowledge and assistance of an experienced practitioner aiding them toward their desired birth experience.
Baby & Me Pregnancy and Labor Prep Program includes:
• An in person prenatal meeting so we can get to know each other (if in NYC) or 3 Skype sessions for those in NYC or anywhere else

First Foods - Just say NO to White!
It seems so simple. Your baby is ready for solid foods. Great! And yet, this period of time can go astray so easily. It is very common for me to see new mothers take the utmost care in what they eat during pregnancy and breastfeeding. When their baby starts eating solids, though, it all falls apart and the baby starts "THE WHITE FOOD DIET!" Rice cereal, crackers, bagels, waffles, cookies, muffins, pretzels, cheerios, french fries, pasta, fast food, on-the-go-food, nibble food and a whole lotta WHITE food! I then see parents mystified as to why their toddler (or older child) won't eat anything but junky white foods. Small children have tiny stomachs so getting in all the nutrients they need is key. It is also very important not to start this young system off on a rollercoaster of blood sugar imbalance leading to insulin resistance. As a parent, you are establishing life habits that can be very hard to break (good or bad) so making great, manageable choices is important from the start.

Puberty and Becoming a Woman
Culturally, we have a good deal of shame and embarrassment around the processes of the female body, The transition from girl to woman is an amazing yet vulnerable time for a female child, especially around her first period. For many families, discussing the changes happening in her body, chemistry and life can be extremely challenging. Some pre-teens and teenagers resist discussing personal matters with parents adding to the challenge. Parents can sometimes be the ones who resist discussing this life transition because they feel like they don't have the answers or know how the handle the questions their daughter might ask. Many girls, therefore, find "the facts" out from their friends. We celebrate so many life transitions and yet this one has shame associated with it for so many girls (as well as full grown women). All too often, girls are given tampons (perhaps Advil as well) and, if she's lucky, a quick, clinical speech about what is happening to her body by a parent or OBGYN. We celebrate weddings, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, even a bris...
but not the rite of passage in becoming a woman? Its time to end the embarrassment, shame and silence. Girls deserve to be honored, nurtured and welcomed into womanhood.
Becoming a Woman Program includes:

Here we have yet another important female life transition...so often full of shame, embarrassment, significant physical and emotional challenges with women suffering in silence. Most medical practitioners have few tools to help a menopausal woman, many of which (studies show) cause cancer and other difficulties. Not so helpful! Yet the symptoms are too big to be ignored for most women. So what's a gal to do?!
Perimenopause and Beyond Program includes:

helping women understand the cause(s) of their symptoms and educating them
about solutions

It is best to start acting as if you're pregnant before you actually are. Conception occurs about 2 weeks before your period is due to begin. This means you may not even know you're pregnant until you're 3 or more weeks pregnant. Your baby is most sensitive to harm 2 to 8 weeks after conception! This is when your baby's organs are beginning to form. Anything you consume (eat, drink, smoke) or are exposed to can affect your baby – positively or negatively. Some women find getting pregnant difficult because their system has become out of balance. Some women can conceive but not stay pregnant. According to the CDC, Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) has been used in the United States since 1981 to help women become pregnant, most commonly through the transfer of fertilized human eggs into a woman’s uterus (in vitro fertilization). However, deciding whether to undergo this expensive and time-consuming treatment can be difficult. Many women find it helpful to prepare their body for pregnancy and birth BEFORE getting pregnant. This aids in greater simplicity with conception, health of their baby and vitality for mother during pregnancy. There is also a great deal of research suggesting that having the necessary nutrients available from the beginning of pregnancy dramatically reduces some major risks for mom/baby at the end of pregnancy and during labor.
